Make it is a startup studio. Our mission is to create impactful startups, and that’s what we’ve been specialising on since the first day: “Be better at building impactful startups”.

For the last 4 years, thanks to an incredible 40-people strong team, we have been working with over 200 clients achieving hard skills in building digital products composed of either software (mobile or cloud applications) and/or electronic devices (hardware/Internet of Things). We have also created/invested in 5 startups, to gain entrepreneurial skills.

Just recently, we decided to go one step further in our will to build startups efficiently and nimbly: further expand our capabilities around Hardware and IoT by having a small scale Factory to quicker prototype and iterate on our product creation.

In this process, we want to communicate our mission and vision. We want to be the convergence point of the entire innovative ecosystem, from entrepreneurs to investors.

The Role

The business developer will be Make it’s representative in Flanders, create and maintain a strong network among the innovation ecosystem and develop sales.

Key responsibilities will be to strenghten and animate our network of partners from the startup ecosystem (coachs, incubators, accelerators, investment fund, business angels). He should already be familiar with this ecosystem.

As lead generation will be one of his/her KPI, he/she should be prepared to give keynotes, conferences and to attend to startup events in the evening, all around Flanders (mostly in Antwerp, Ghent, Hasselt and Leuven).

After having generated leads, he/she will have to take care of the sales process.

To succeed in his mission, the business developer will work in close collaboration with other members of the sales department, the marketing department and the communication department.

The following would make you an ideal candidate:

    Dutch Native and fluent in English

    Appreciated: a good command of French

  • check

    You like to convince and to talk in front of an audience.

    You have a proven experience in sales and business development.

  • check

    Interest in entrepreneurship, innovation and startups. A pre-existing network is a strong plus.

    You like to move from one place to another to meet clients and partners.

  • check

    You want to attend events in the evening at least once a week.

  • check

    You are not afraid of responsibilities, you want to take up challenges and reach ambitious goals.

    The sort of personality who thrives in an atmosphere of ambiguity and quickly changing priorities. New ideas and settings pump you up rather than wear you out, even if they challenge the work you have already completed.
